Accidents
The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
Neal Lee Roth Jr., 25, Walton, was northbound on Indigo at 160th at 5:50 a.m. Nov. 8 when a deer was struck while crossing the road. The 1998 Ford Explorer Roth was driving is registered to Heather Gregg of Walton. Roth was not injured, reports Deputy Chad Funk.
Wendy M. Conklin, 18, 223 W. Seventh, Florence, was eastbound on 120th just east of Nighthawk at 3:06 p.m. Oct. 27 when she lost control of the 2001 Ford F150 she was driving and entered the south ditch. The vehicle rolled 1 1/ 4 times and came to rest on the driver's side. The vehicle is registered to Don E. Knak of the home. Passengers in the vehicle were Rosemary Knak, 59, and Donna Mosher, 38, both of the home. Conklin was taken by Florence ambulance to Hillsboro Community Center, Knak was taken by Peabody ambulance to Newton Medical Center, and Mosher was taken by Lifeteam Helicopter to Wesley Medical Center. A fence damaged in the accident is owned by Ron Suderman, 1035 130th, Peabody, reports Deputy Vineski.
Jane A. Pigorsch, 44, 111 Kansas, Lincolnville was southbound on Kanza at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 4 when a male deer was hit while running from the west ditch in front of the 2001 Ford Taurus Pigorsch was driving. Pigorsch was not insured, reports Sheriff Lee Becker.
Richard F. Noone, 79, 1590 260th, Marion was eastbound on 260th just east of Nighthawk at 6:05 p.m. Nov. 5 when a deer was in the roadway. Noone's 1993 Ford Crown Victoria struck the deer, reports Deputy Vineski. Loretta A. Noone, 76, of the home was a passenger in the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
David D. Loos, 52, 601 S. Kansas, Canton, was westbound on U.S.-56 just east of Old Mill at 6:10 p.m. Nov. 4 when a deer entered the roadway from the south. The 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser Loos was driving struck and killed the deer. Janet L. Loos, 60, of the home was a passenger in the vehicle. No one was injured, reports Deputy Vineski.
Debra K. Rempel, 50, Wichita, was northbound on Indigo just north of 70th at 6 p.m. Nov. 7 when a deer came out of the west ditch and was hit. Rempel was driving a 2004 Hyundai Elantra, reports Undersheriff Randal Brazil. No one was injured.
Jonnie E. Johnson, 37, El Dorado, was northbound on U.S.-77 just south of U.S.-50 at 8:35 p.m. Nov. 7 when a deer came out of the east ditch and was struck and killed. Johnson, driving a 1995 Nissan Pickup, was not injured, reports Undersheriff Brazil.
Donald R. Cole, 47, 3439 Vista, Lost Springs, was southbound on Quail Creek just south of 330th at 1:23 p.m. Nov. 8 when a deer came out of the east ditch and was struck and killed. Dana Cole, 45, of the home was a passenger in the 1994 Ford Explorer Cole was driving. No one was injured, reports Undersheriff Brazil.
