Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Nichole G. Nordstrom, 20, 508 North Lombard, Lincolnville, was southbound on U.S.-77 just north of U.S.-50 at 8:04 p.m. Nov. 30 when a deer ran into the path of the vehicle. Nordstrom, driving a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, was unable to avoid hitting the deer, reports Deputy Aaron Waddell. She was not injured.

Dustin A. Stevens, 16, 2672 Sunflower, Marion was northbound on Sunrise just north of 230th at 3:15 p.m. Dec. 18. Stevens, driving a 1988 Chrysler Le Baron swerved to miss a deer and lost control on the gravel. The vehicle rolled into the east ditch. Stevens was taken by personal vehicle to St. Luke Hospital at Marion. The vehicle is registered to Lloyd Sklenar of the home, reports Deputy Waddell.

Mary E. Urban, 50, Canton, was southbound on U.S.-77 just south of 20th at 10:05 p.m. Nov. 23. Urban lost control of the 2002 Ford Ranger she was driving and slid into a field striking some small trees. She was not injured, reports Deputy Waddell.

Sometime prior to 9:27 p.m. Dec. 18, unknown individuals were southbound on Indigo just north of 90th. The vehicle, a 1983 Chevrolet Citation registered to Fred C. Carson of Newton, went off the roadway into the east ditch. The occupants left the scene and did not report the accident, states Deputy Larry Starkey.
