Accidents reported

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Katie Baird, 20, 808 Welch, Marion, was southbound on Sunflower Road near 130th in a 2002 Chrysler Sebring at 10:52 a.m. Dec. 8, when she lost control because of ice on the roadway. Matthew T. Fine, 16, 211 N. First, Marion, was northbound in a 1995 Mercury Sable and took evasive action to avoid hitting the Chrysler and drove into a ditch. The Mercury was registered to Vickie and Rich Fine of the same address. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Matt Vogt reported there were no injuries and less than $1,000 in damages.

Nicholas A. Villalovos, 22, Wichita, was southbound on Indigo Road near 180th in a 2004 Ford Mustang at 11:45 a.m. Dec. 8, when he lost control on the icy road and struck a 2003 Ford Focus driven by Leroy V. Hiebert, 75, Elbing. The Mustang was registered to Gail and Richard Villalovos, Bakersfield, Calif. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Deputy Vogt.

Carol A. Johnson, 58, Wichita, was southbound on Sunflower Road near 120th in a 2005 Toyota passenger car at 12:40 p.m. Dec. 8, when she lost control on an icy road and struck a ditch. David Johnson, 23, of the same address, was a passenger. Deputy Vogt reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Wayne J. Tajchman, 31, Wichita, was westbound on 190th near Alfalfa in a 1989 Mercedes 300 at 2 p.m. Dec. 9, when he crossed a low water area and struck a large rock in the road. Passengers in the vehicle were Mark V. Tajchman, no age given on report, and Tommy M. Tajchman, 15, both of 2289 N. Yarrow Road, Marion. The vehicle was registered to Stephanie Niedens, Wichita. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Deputy Vogt.

David W. Silhan, 44, 204 Maple, Marion, was southbound on Kanza Road near 240th in a 2002 International truck at 2:35 p.m. Dec. 10, when two deer came from a west ditch and were struck. The truck was registered to Marion County Highway Department, 142 N. Coble, Marion. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Larry Starkey reported there were no injuries and less than $1,000 in damages.
