Adina Funk

Adina Funk, 92, of El Dorado died Jan. 8, 2002, at a nursing home in El Dorado.

Born Dec 9, 1909, on the family farm in rural Hillsboro, she was the daughter of Peter E. and Lizzie (Goertz) Ewert. She was the youngest of eight children.

On March 22, 1931, she married Ernest Funk. He died Dec. 18, 1951.

She lived in the Hillsboro area until 1943, then moved to El Dorado.

For 28 years she was employed in the housekeeping department at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of the Johannestal Mennonite Church. While living in El Dorado, she attended the First Baptist Church.

Her hobbies included embroidery, gardening, reading, and latch hook.

She was preceded in death by her five brothers, two sisters, a son-in-law, and a grandson.

Survivors include daughters, Donna Baumann of St. Charles, Mo., Doris and husband Bob Seacat, and Jane and husband LeRoy Hildreth, all of El Dorado; nine grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Monday at the Johannestal Cemetery, near Hillsboro, with Pastor Wade Graber officiating.

A memorial has been established with the First Baptist Church in El Dorado.
