Adney Stean
Adney Cornelius Stean, 83, died Aug. 3, 2006, at Hillsboro.
Born Oct. 29, 1922, at Bonner Springs, he was the son of Adney Bryant and Iva Theo (Kirby) Stean.
He was a custodian.
In 1942, he married Alma Worthington at Bonner Springs. She died in 1995. In 1999, he married Elda Riesen at Hillsboro. She died in 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Adney Brown Stean of Riverside, Mo., and Larry Stean of Tonganoxie; two daughters, Izzie Klassen of Hillsboro and Wendy Verdict of Bonner Springs; four stepchildren; three brothers, Ronald Stean and LaVern Stean, both of Bonner Springs and Billy Joe Stean of Olathe; a sister, Donnavean Ridnes of Linwood; 26 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Salem Nursing Home Chapel, Hillsboro, with Pastor Tim Kliewer officiating.
A memorial fund has been established with Salem Nursing Home, Hillsboro.
