Adolf Schmidt
Adolf "Al" Schmidt, 93, of Goessel, died Feb. 9, 2007.
Born June 17, 1913, in Marion County, he was the son of Jacob and Maria (Hiebert) Schmidt.
On Aug. 14, 1936, he married Susie Bergen at Goessel.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Walt, Carl, and Ben Schmidt.
Survivors include his wife, Susie of Goessel; two sons, Robert Schmidt of Wichita and Larry Schmidt of Hutchinson; daughter, Janice Sivertson; brother, Rudy Schmidt of Goessel; sister, Frieda Voth of Goessel; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, rural Goessel, with Pastor Lee Suderman and Pastor Linda Ewert officiating.
Burial was in Alexanderwohl Mennonite Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with Bethesda Home, Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, or the Mennonite Central Committee.
