The hot days of July have kept residents inside enjoying a variety of Wednesday noon programs.
The first was the "Home on the Range" video, which told the origin of the song and explained about the wind farms and the life of the bison on the prairie. Neta Wilson shared a devotion about love for the anniversary diner.
On the third Wednesday, Dorlee Freeman led a sing-a-long of the hymns and country school songs we sang in our youth. For our birthday dinner, Henry Zamojski shared with us about Poland and the history of Mennonites in Poland
The last Wednesday of July we will be informed about the services and equipment that is available for us when needed from Home Health.
Our center was host to the Marion County Board of Senior Citizens on July 17. We also had our carry-in meal that evening which featured a men's quartet from the Alexanerwohl Church.
The first Wednesday meeting of August will give us an opportunity to meet a new community family: Ben and Marcia Bricker. They will student teach in the Goessel schools in the area of music and will present a program for the center on Aug. 6.
For our anniversary dinner, Laurina and Christa Graber will present piano and oboe music. On Aug. 14, Becky Lind, dietitian for the North Central-Flint Hills Area on Aging will present "Sugar Substitutes."
Ray and Cecilia Young will show pictures of the Antarctica on Aug. 20, and for the birthday dinner on Aug. 27, Madeline O'Halloran and her canine assistant will demonstrate what a dog can be trained to do.
As of July, Mary Graber is site manage of the Agape Center at Goessel. Join us any day for lunch and activities.
