Agnes Meinen
Agnes Eda Meinen, 91, of Hillsboro, died June 27, 2002, at Parkside Nursing Home in Hillsboro.
Born Oct. 10, 1910, in Talmadge, Neb., she was the daughter of Johann and Elizabeth (Heim) Meinen. She grew up on the family farm southwest of Rush Center.
She worked on the family farm and for neighboring farm wives. She also worked at the Lorre Locke Hotel in Dodge City. She returned to the family farm where she lived until moving to Parkside Homes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George and John and his wife Joanne; sisters, Anna Meinen, Mary Meinen, and Minnie David; and nephew, Johnny Meinen.
Survivors include sister, Emma Meinen of Hillsboro; nieces, Sharon and her husband Deran Siebert of Hillsboro, and Lisa and her husband Terry Rogers of Tulsa, Okla.; and nephews, Russell Meinen of Arkansas, Larry and his wife Raelene Meinen of McPherson; and Gary and his wife Jeana Meinen of Manvel, Texas.
Graveside services were held June 29 at La Crosse City Cemetery in La Crosse with Pastor James Strasen officiating.
