Alfred Friesen
Alfred W. Friesen, 79, of Reedley, Calif., died Oct. 9, 2006.
He and wife Dolores established Friesen's Jewelers in Hillsboro in 1959, and opened stores later in Kansas City, Pratt, and Hutchinson where they were located from 1977 to 1989. In 1993, the Friesens retired to Palm Village Retirement Community in Reedley.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Rosalie Klassen of Marion.
Survivors include his wife Dolores of Reedley; sons David and wife Deborah, Fresno, Calif., and Dale and wife Julie of San Jose, Calif.; one sister, Arleen Dahl and husband Calvin of New Hope, Minn.; four brothers, Vernon and wife Rachel of Hillsboro, Orval and wife Jean of Fremont, Calif., Norman and wife Doris of Shafter, Calif., and Andy and wife Bonnie of Hillsboro; brother-in-law Leonard Klassen of Marion; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 20, at Palm Village Retirement Community, Reedley.
