Alfred Thiessen
Alfred Thiessen, 90, died June 24, 2008, at Dallas, Texas.
Born June 18, 1918, at Whitewater, he was the son of Henry and Lydia (Jantz) Thiessen.
He was a farmer and member of Lafontaine Christian Church.
On Oct. 3, 1948, he married Lucena Seibel at Fredonia.
Survivors include his wife, Lucena of Garland, Texas; son, Larry Thiessen of Galva; two daughters, Judy Wolfe of Newton and Carol Sachse of Garland, Texas; two brothers, Dan and Edwin Thiessen, both of Independence; sister, Elfrida Howard of Independence; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were Friday morning at Lafontaine Christian Church, Lafontaine, with Pastor Lee Suderman officiating.
Graveside services were Friday afternoon at Gnadenau Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
A memorial fund has been established with the church.
