Alice Harms

Alice F. Harms, 79, died Sept. 12, 2007, at her home at Parsons.

Born Nov. 20, 1927, at Hillsboro, she was the daughter of Peter and Mary (Funk) Pankratz. She attended schools in the Brudertal Church community near Hillsboro, and graduated from Hillsboro High School.

On Aug. 3, 1952, she married Sylvester Harms near Hillsboro. He died in 2005.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Pankratz.

Survivors include two sons, Stephen Harms of Tucson, Ariz., and John Harms of Leawood; a daughter, Sheila Lyle of Parsons; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon at First Mennonite Church, Hillsboro. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery, east of Newton.

A memorial fund has been established with Mennonite Disaster Service.
