Alice Wilber
Former Burns resident Alice Gertrude Wilber, 97, of El Dorado, died Nov. 30, 2005.
Born Sept. 29, 1908, in Marion County, she was the daughter of Chester and Leora (Wagner) Waggy. She attended Brown Grade School and graduated from Burns High School.
On Dec. 8, 1926, she married George Wilber. He died in 1997.
She was a member of Burns United Methodist Church, Burns Study Club, and EHU.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Litchfield.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph Wilber of Mesa, Ariz., and Ray Wilber of Wichita; two daughters, Karen Hamilton of El Dorado and Norma Clark of Burns; brother, Clyde Waggy of El Dorado; two sisters, Dorothy Whisler of Peabody and Betty McClay of Ottawa; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, El Dorado.
Burial was in Pleasant Center Cemetery near Burns.
Memorial funds have been established with Hospice of Kansas or Vintage Place.
