Anhydrous ammonia stolen in Lincolnville
A routine traffic stop for Marion County sheriff's deputy Aaron Waddell resulted in a 17-mile chase to McPherson County.
Waddell observed Deborah K. Kelso, 51, of rural McPherson, running a stop sign and not using a turn signal Monday evening as she turned her vehicle on to the westbound lane on U.S.-56.
Kelso refused to heed to Waddell's lights and siren which resulted in the chase. Speeds were not excessive, said Marion County Sheriff Lee Becker.
The chase ended near Canton when McPherson County sheriff's deputies used stop sticks, puncturing tires on Kelso's vehicle.
When the vehicle stopped, the suspect continued to refuse to cooperate with authorities. A window was broken on the vehicle and the suspect was extracted from the vehicle, said Becker.
Kelso was transported to Marion County Jail and is being held on a $500 bond.
