Anna Duerksen
Anna Duerksen, 88, of Goessel died Jan. 3, 2004, at Bethesda Home in Goessel.
She was born May 25, 1915, at Inman.
On Aug. 18, 1939, at Inman, she married August Duerksen. He died in 1989. After marriage, the couple lived in the rural Hillsboro area, until moving to Goessel in 1985.
She was a farmer's wife and a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel.
She was preceded in death by her spouse and grandson, John Sebes.
Survivors include daughters, Janett and her husband, John E. Wiebe of Newton, Dorothy and her husband, Dennis Sebes of Hanston, and Luetta Duerksen of Wichita; brother Henry Penner of Kansas City, Mo.; half sister, Lavina Goering of McPherson, Elda Schrag of North Newton, and Velma Unruh of Galva; one granddaughter, Nancy Sebes; brother-in-law, Albert Ratzlaff; and sister-in-law, Velda Duerksen, both of Goessel.
A graveside service and burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Alexanderwohl Cemetery near Goessel. A memorial service at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church will follow the burial at 2 p.m. with Revs. James Dunn and Mark Wiens officiating.
Visitation hours are from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home in Goessel.
A memorial has been established with the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church library.
