Anniversary: Milford and Kathryn Blair

Milford and Kathryn (Ratzlaff) Blair will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at First Mennonite Church, Hillsboro.

The couple were married Aug. 20, 1937, in the Bethel College Chapel in North Newton.

Longtime residents of Hillsboro, Milford worked at the local Associated Milk Producers Inc. plant until retiring in 1976, and Kathryn taught in the local school system and retired in 1973.

Both have been active members of First Mennonite Church, where Kathryn taught Sunday school. The couple helped start the Et Cetera Shop in Hillsboro as a way to raise money for worldwide relief through the sales of second-hand items and international crafts.

They were also involved in 4-H, serving as local project leaders.

The Blairs currently live in the Park Village retirement community in Hillsboro. Family and friends are invited to attend the open house. The couple request no gifts.
