Archie L. Leppke
Archie (Arch) L. Leppke, 84, formerly of Hillsboro, died April 2, 2005, after a brief illness at Norman Regional Hospital, Norman, Okla.
Born on the family farm southeast of Hillsboro, he was the eldest son of David and Martha (Litke) Leppke.
He attended school and received his early religious teachings at Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church, where he accepted Christ as his personal savior in 1937.
On Sept. 26, 1941, he married Irene Francis of Peabody. She survives.
He was a blacksmith, welder, carpenter, mechanic, and a longtime employee at Hillsboro Industries before moving to Oklahoma. He was a maintenance man for a property management firm in Norman prior to his retirement. He was a fisherman, hunter, and collector.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-laws, Leo Penner of Wichita, and Henry Vogt of Cordell, Okla.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Terry and wife Sherrie, Don and wife Phyllis, all of Norman, Okla.; sister, Bessie Penner-Vogt, Hillsboro; brothers, Ikie Leppke of Pueblo, Colo., and David Leppke Jr. of Humboldt.
