Around the town: Ladies celebrate May, June birthdays

Don Penner from Alberta, Canada, was a house guest at the Milford Klaassen home in rural Hillsboro. While here he visited family and friends in the area. On Tuesday evening, the Tim Dieners and Daryl Bartels were additional guests for a barbecue.
On Sunday, Paul and Arlene Pankratz attended church at the Methodist Church in Jewel and were dinner guests of their daughter and husband, Sherilyn and David Kadel, near Randall.
On Wednesday, a group of ladies had a birthday dinner at Olde Towne Restaurant honoring the May and June birthdays of Doris David, Virginia Fadenrecht, Mary Lancaster and Arlene Pankratz. Others there were Betty Meier, Marcella Mohn, Edie Ollenburger, Jane Miller, Elma Klein, Carol Ollenburger, Shirley Hamm, Pearl Koch, and Frances Unruh, all of Hillsboro; Marilyn Geis of Marion; and Connie Wiens of Durham. The group was joined by a new Hillsboro resident, Beverly Elliot, formerly of Oklahoma, City, Okla. She is the daughter of Oliver and Frances Unruh.
Leslie and Trudy Unruh from Upland, Calif., were house guests for a week at the home of Oliver and Frances Unruh. On Saturday, Leslie and Trudy and Oliver and Frances went to Fairview, Okla., to visit their brother and wife, Lawrence and Helen Unruh. Oliver and Frances returned home Sunday, and Leslie and Trudy spent a week at the Lawrence Unruhs.
Ralph and Helen Vogel of Inman were recent visitors at Hannah Ollenburgers.
Corrections from last week's paper — Glenda and Megan Fleener from El Dorado were Memorial weekend guests of Pearl Koch.
Duane and Shirley Hamm of Hillsboro and Norma Ballard of Topeka were Memorial weekend guests at their sister's, Eileen Greikspoor, in Wichita. On Saturday, they decorated graves at Anthony, Hazelton, and Attica.
