Around the Town: Local women attend church meeting

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Seibel of Wichita visited at the Clarence Seibels and Paul Pankratzes Sunday afternoon.

New Year's Eve guests of Darlene Unruh were Delilah Deckert and Velda Hiebert.

Walt Jost of Olathe drove Pete and Leona Koslowsky and Mary Seibel to Wolf Point, Mont., to attend the funeral for their brother-in-law, Louis Toaves. Louis was a well known John Deere tractor collector.

Dirk Lancaster from Lindsborg spent Sunday night with his parents, Dave and Mary Lancaster. The Lancasters celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Tuesday evening by going out for dinner.

Fred and Doris David announce the arrival of a baby granddaughter, Emma Grace, born on Jan. 9 to Mr. and Mrs. Scott David.

On Thursday Bill and Betty Meier visited Bob and Lois Whitney and Willabeth Gonzales in Newton.

Tim and Donna Diener hosted a birthday supper Monday evening for Marissa's 15th birthday. Guests were Marissa's sister, Emily from K-State, and her grandparents, Truman Diener and Paul and Arlene Pankratz.

Celia Gross spent three weeks at Sioux Falls, S.D. She was a house guest of her sister, Ida Gross, and they visited nephews, aunts and cousins. She also attended funeral services for an uncle while there.

Ladies from Hillsboro who attended the Baptist Kings Daughters January meeting in Durham were Donna Diener, Shirley Hamm, Pearl Koch, Betty Meier, Marcella Mohn, Carol Ollenburger, Edie Ollenburger, Arlene Pankratz, and Frances Unruh. Donna Diener had the lesson "Splash on the Living Water," and Betty Meier had a mission study on the mission field in the Cameroons. Ruth Hamm was in charge of installation of the new officers for 2002 who are Edie Ollenburger, president; Valera Hamm, vice president; Dorene Joy, secretary; and Janice Kaufman, treasurer.
