Around the town: Pankratzes host family, friends

Mr. and Mrs. Jay Burkhart of Newton and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Seibel of Wichita were Memorial Day dinner guests at the Paul Pankratzes. They also visited Wesley Unruh and Harry Pankratz at Parkside Homes.

Monday evening guests at the Pankratzes for a cook-out were the Tim Diener family of Hillsboro and Ken Pankratz of Durham.

On Saturday Pearl Koch attended a reception for Tabor College graduate Rebecca Overmiller at the Dennis Bitikofer home at Canton.

Glenda and Megan Fleener from El Dorado were Sunday to Monday guests at their sister's, Eilene Greikspoor, in Wichita. On Saturday they decorated graves at Anthony, Hazelton and Attica.

Albert, Janet, Sarah and Andrew Christenson of Wichita were visitors at Duane Hamm's on Monday evening.

On Sunday Betty Bernhardt attended the annual Bernhardt family reunion at the American Legion Hall in Hope. Hostesses were Dorothy Rindt from Wichita, Pat Miltz of Topeka and Betty Bernhardt. President was Joyce Schlueter from Hebron, Neb., and John and Lee Bernhardt from Wichita were in charge of the program.

Betty Bernhardt and Hilda Seifert of Marion were Monday evening supper guests of Agnes Bernhardt near Marion.

On Sunday, Oliver and Elizabeth Unruh of rural Hillsboro visited Elizabeth's brother and wife, Arthur and Carolyn Busenitz, at Benton.

The Kasper family had their reunion on Sunday at the home of Gerald and Joyce Kessler near Lehigh. There were approximately 60 to 65 in attendance, some from Oklahoma, the Kansas City area and other places in Kansas.

Over the weekend, Mildred Hanneman was the honored guest for her birthday at the home of Gloria Hanneman in Wichita. Other guests were her husband Wilbur Hanneman; Frank, Elaine, Brian and Mark Nelson from Overland Park; Brad Hanneman from Manhattan; Delbert and Becky Hanneman and Audrey Hanneman of Wichita.

Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Miller spent Memorial Day weekend at Frankfort, Ind., visiting Mr. and Mrs. Troy Smith and Faye.
