Athletes compete in powerlifting
The Class 3A Women's Powerlifting competition was held April 2 in Marion. The Hillsboro High School women's team finished third and the men's team, 21st.
Women's results are the following: Amy Duerksen, senior, clean, Class 165, record 170. Emily Ratzlaff, senior, Class 148, second. Katie Baltzer, senior, class 148, third. Duerksen, 148-PWR, fourth.
Men's results are the following: Class 123, Chris Jensen, junior, fifth. Class 165, Josh Jost, junior, 10th. Class 165, David Funk, junior, 17th. Class 242, Wade Weibert, junior, 10th.
HRC to host tourney
Hillsboro Recreation Commission will host 10-and- under and 12-and-under baseball tournaments May 14 and 15. Entry deadline is 5 p.m. May 2 or until the tournament is filled. The entry fee is $100 plus three new game balls.
