B.H. Friesen reunion held at museum

The B.H. Friesen family members met at the Heritage Museum in Goessel and toured the museum and the Friesen house. This house was built in 1912 by B.H. Friesen on the farm east of Goessel. Later, it was donated to the Heritage Museum by the Dan Friesen family.

A catered picnic lunch was enjoyed by all in the Goessel Park. After lunch, those present visited the Goessel and Alexanderwohl church cemeteries where family members are buried.

They then went to the farm one mile east of Goessel where the Friesen family lived. This farm, homesteaded by Rev. Peter Voth, parents of Mrs. B.H. Friesen, is now the home of the Les Goerzen family. Les is a great-grandson of Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Friesen. The farm has been in the family for 129 years.

From the farm family members went to Hillsboro to the Adobe House and then to the Tabor College cafeteria for dinner. The evening was spent visiting, looking at old pictures and reminiscing, especially about the members who no longer are with us, and music selections by different family members.

Sunday morning breakfast was served in the college cafeteria. After breakfast Elfrieda Funk led in group singing. Delon Martens gave the meditation based on Hebrews 11:1.
