Barb Unruh returns from Panama City

Many from this community attended the household auction of Orpha Dirks on Saturday at the 4-H building in Hillsboro. Orpha moved into the Bethesda Home assisted living area the beginning of February. She is enjoying her move and would appreciate visitors.

Congratulations to Wayne and Loralee Wiebe on the arrival of their first child. Russ Alan was born March 16 at McPherson Memorial Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces. The local grandparents are Clayton and Betty Wiebe, and Helen Wiebe is the great-grandmother.

Those who went to a church conference in Winnipeg, Canada, were Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Ken and Sandy Wiebe, Harry and Sheryle Rhodes, Bruce and Cheryl Dirks, and Kathy Jantz. Kathy went also to visit her daughter, Ruthann, who is working at a children's home there.

Sunday dinner guests in the home of Jerald and Rhonda Koehn were Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Dave and Chris Redger and family, Henry Redger and Rhonda's uncle and aunt, Robert and Florence Goessen of Bernie, Manitoba, Canada, who were visiting here a few days.

Dora Unruh accompanied Doris Schmidt from Hesston to attend the WDC women's sunset supper and meeting on Thursday evening at the Yoder Mennonite Church.

Ron and Dora Unruh met her brother, Milt and Alice Duerksen, at the Main Street Café for supper on Friday evening and visited.

Katelin Unruh left Friday evening with the youth from the Trinity and First Mennonite churches for a spring skiing trip to Colorado. They returned late Tuesday.

The school children from USD 410 are enjoying a spring break until Thursday when school resumes.
