Basketball camp held in Goessel
Goessel High School Coach Justin Coup hosted the Central Kansas All Star Basketball Camp June 1-4 at Goessel High School. The camp emphasized developing skills and teamwork. Forty-eight participants enrolled in the basketball camp. Different competitions were held throughout the camp and the following is a list of winners.
Awards for grades 6-8 include Free Throw Champs, Travis Fensky and Kendra Flaming; Free Throw Runners-up, Hayden Goerzen and Karis Janzen; Hot Shot Champs, Kendall Voth and Kendra Flaming; Hot Shot Runners-up, Travis Fensky and Aspen Frey; Knockout Champ, Austin Voth; Knockout Runner-up, Corey Buller; Hustle Award, Alex Ross and Adam Meysing; Defensive Award, Weston Hiebert and Kaleb Dailey; Most Improved, Jessica Goertzen and Kim Stahl.
Five-on-five Champs were Austin Unruh, Veronica Powers, Tyler Schmidt, Bryant Miller, Neal Brubaker, and Jonathan Berkholz; One-on-one Champ, Austin Unruh; One-on-one Runner-up, Aspen Frey; Two-on-two Champ, Corey Buller and Bryant Miller; Two-on-two Runners-up, Travis Fensky and Laird Goertzen; Three-on-three Champs, Austin Unruh, Jennifer Van Horn, and Jonathan Berkholz; Three-on-three Runners-up, Kendall Voth, Kim Stahl, and Chad Wedel; Ball Handling award, Craig Banman and Neal Brubaker.
Awards for grades 3-5 include Free Throw Champs were Nicolas Buller and Ali Buller; Free Throw Runners-up, Nathan Lorson and Johanna Hoffman; Hot Shot Champs, Shane Goerzen and Raelyn Lorson; Hot Shot Runners-up, Trey Schmidt and Johanna Hoffman; Knockout Champ, Nathan Lorson; Knockout Runner-up, Braden Unruh; Hustle Award, Dan Smucker and Zach Showalter; Defensive Award, Landon Cook and Dan Smucker; Most Improved award, Heath Goertzen and Brian Hiebert.
