Benefit meal, talent show set for Feb. 22 years ago
The Goessel Lions Club and Bethesda Home will co-sponsor the Third Annual Benefit Meal and Talent Show on Feb. 22 at the Goessel Junior/Senior High School. The benefit meal of barbecue brisket sandwiches, baked beans, pasta salad, and homemade pies will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria
The meal will be followed by a Sports Card Collection auction at 6:45 p.m. and the talent show at 7 p.m. The talent show will feature a variety of Central Kansas talent including "Cousins Four," "Schniggle-Fritz German Band," "Generations II," plus some home-town comedy and the talent of the Goessel Youth. Van Schmidt will serve as master of ceremonies.
"The Goessel Lions Club and Bethesda Home are pleased to again to sponsor this type of community event again, and we are pleased to have arranged for another wholesome, fun-filled evening that will be enjoyed by all ages," said Al Schmidt and Pete Flaming, event coordinators.
"The Lions Club members believe in the mission of Bethesda Home and are pleased to support this walking path project that not only benefits Bethesda residents, but everyone in the community that may use it. We hope that many come out to enjoy the evening and give generously to our project," continued Schmidt.
Donations will be accepted at the meal and/or at the talent show to support the Goessel Lions Club's community project of putting lights along the Emma Creek Meadows Walking Path. Donations are payable to Bethesda Home.
