Bethel forensics squad continues winning ways

In two days of competition at Central Missouri State University, Nov. 6-7, the Bethel College forensics squad earned four awards, including one first-place finish.

The Bethel squad, comprised of four competitors, competed against 15 other colleges and universities during the course of the Missouri Mule Swing Tournament.

On the second day of competition, Kristin Watson-Drennen, a sophomore from Lyons, placed first in program oral interpretation. She also received seventh place in poetry interpretation.

In the first half of the swing, freshman Cory Buchta, Newton, placed fourth in impromptu speaking and fifth in after-dinner speaking

Also in attendance were sophomores Bethany McElhiney, Wichita, and Shawn Rath, Moundridge.

For its next competition, the Thresher squad will travel to Doane College and the University of Nebraska-Omaha for the Doane Nut Swing on Nov. 20-21.
