Remington came to Goessel High School Friday, and spoiled an attempt for the Bluebirds girls' basketball team to begin the season with a victory.
The Bluebirds got off to a slow start and trailed at halftime 18-10.
The young Goessel team was led in scoring by senior Jennifer Raymond with 11 points.
Karina Harvey sank six points, Aspen Frey and Karis Janzen four, and Kenda Flaming one point and six rebounds.
Remington's defense forced Goessel into 21 turnovers. The Bluebirds shot a disappointing 29 percent from the field.
"We are a very young team," coach Ryan Hoopes said. "We will learn something from every game we play."
