In the match against Sterling, Goessel won 15-9, 14-16, 15-6.

"We came out flat in the second game of this match," Coach Sandy Banman said. "We were down 3-11 and fought our way back in to tie it at 14-14. Even though we didn't win this game, I was very happy that we were able to dig our way out of that hole."

"Shannon Schmidt had a good match," Banman said.

Schmidt led with 10 digs and served 21 for 22 with two aces.

Tara Goerzen served 12 for 12 and had 32 assists.

Lindsey Unruh also served 100 percent with 7/7.

Stucky had 18 kills.

"Becky Schroeder, who is our defensive specialist, had a great game on defense," Banman said.

"Jessica Graber hit well from the right side and Ashley Ensz was an obstacle for the Sterling hitters with getting seven touches on blocks," she said.

Goessel defeated Sedgwick 15-2, 15-11.

"Becky Schroeder led our serve receive with all but one of her passes going right to the setter," Banman said. Lindsey Unruh led with 10 digs and Stucky had 17 kills.

"Tara Goerzen did a great job of serving, with not missing a serve all day through five matches," Banman said. Goerzen had 39 serves.

The team's overall record is 10-0, and league record is 2-0.
