Bluejays snap 11-game losing streak years ago
The Bluejays can breathe a much-needed sigh of relief. The good news is their 11-game nightmare is over with.
Quickly there to rain on Tabor's parade is the fact it's currently on a one-game slide.
That came Saturday against the only team Tabor has swept, the hosting St. Mary Spires in Leavenworth.
A team that has struggled manufacturing runs, the Bluejays hardly looked it in the opener, blasting the Spires, 14-1.
Tabor (7-15 KCAC, 18-24) was nipped in the nightcap, 3-2 to start the skid again.
The Bluejays finally awoke from the nightmare Thursday night on a rain-dampened Tabor field against the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes.
Thursday's opener was the same old story with the Bluejays pounding out 17 hits in 12 1/2 innings.
Seeing Tabor got 17 hits would make you think about an offensive explosion.
The explosion was a dud with the Bluejays hanging on for a modest 4-3 win to snap the losing streak.
Leading 3-0 heading into the top of the seventh, the Bluejays gave it all back as KWU sent the game to extra innings with a three-run inning.
Jeremy Ball was 3-for-5 with an RBI double, Keenan Morris went 3-for-6 and Chance Miles 1-for-7 with a pair of RBIs.
Tabor out-hit the Coyotes in the nightcap, 6-5, but tumbled 8-2 to start the downward spiral again.
The Bluejays close out the regular season Saturday, hosting league-leading Friends at 1 p.m.
