The enigma of the Bluejay season continues:

One week, Tabor plays its best game of the season; the next, it plays its worst.

Now, with four games left in the regular season, the Bluejays have a good shot at winning their second straight.

Tabor hosts the struggling Southwestern Moundbuilders at 2 p.m. Saturday for the annual homecoming game.

The Builders (1-5) finally broke into the win column Saturday, outlasting St. Mary, 28-21, to leave them in a tie for sixth in the KCAC.

Tabor put together one of its better games of the year Saturday when it spoiled McPherson's homecoming with a 26-3 beating.

The win puts Tabor (3-3) in a three-way tie for fourth in the league with St. Mary and Bethany.

After taking a 3-0 lead within the first quarter, McPherson's offense had its emergency brake on the rest of the game.

For Tabor, Mario Nava barreled in from a yard out, fueling 26 straight points. It was another balanced offensive output for the Bluejays, as Nava's 13 carries for a game-high 65 yards paced a 227-yard rushing onslaught.

The Bluejays were in front by the break, 13-3, holding the Bulldogs to -11 yards rushing and just 43 yards overall from 20 plays.

Tabor dominated the clock, holding the ball 13:03 longer than the Bulldogs. DeJuan Jones threw for 144 yards and two TDs, completing an impressive 14 of 19 passing and carrying for 48 yards more.

Seven catches went to Aaron Jenkins, who had a game-high 73 yards and a touchdown.
