After a whole week with no games, the high school boys played the 0-8 Remington Broncos on Tuesday and won 55-39. Goessel jumped out to a 20-9 lead, but only led by eight at halftime.
The Broncos made a 10-0 run to cut the Goessel lead to 39-33. Two of the five three pointers by Jesse Goertzen pushed the score to 45-33 and then good defense prevented any Remington rally.
The Bluebirds made eight of eight free throws to end the game. They had 18 turnovers and forced Remington into 23 turnovers.
Scoring for the team were Clinton Plenert with 16 points, Jesse Goertzen with 15, Jeremy Voth with 12, Kent Peters six, Aaron Stehman four, and Ben Schmidt two.
The boys' record is now 6-3 in league
