Charlie R. Loucks

Charlie R. Loucks, 88, of Canton died June 14, 2002, at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.

Born June 1, 1914, in Canton, he was the son of Joseph and Clara (Bitikofer) Loucks.

On Aug. 27, 1936, he married Thelma Blosser. She died in 2000.

He was a farmer and also worked at Hesston Corporation for many years. He was a lifetime resident of Canton except for the last four years he lived at Schowalter Villa. He was a member of Spring Valley Mennonite Church in rural Canton.

Survivors include sons, Lonnie of Las Vegas, Nev., and Rodney of Canton; daughters, Yvonne Chambers of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Julie Bacon of Ulysses; brother, Phares Locks of Hesston; sisters, Vera Diener of Weatherford, Okla., Myrtle Stutzman of Hesston, Ethel Posar of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Marjorie Knight of Oregon; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Spring Valley Mennonite Church in rural Canton with Pastors Loyal Martin and Frank Willems and Chaplin Beverly Baumgartner officiating. Burial will be at Spring Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Goessel.

A memorial fund has been established with Gideons.
