Christian bookstore moves to new location

The need to expand a business is a good problem to have; especially for a business that only has been open for a year.

Thee Bookstore, a Christian book and gift store, is moving to 117 N. Main, Hillsboro, a few doors north of its former location. The new location is twice the size of the former store.

"The new location will allow us to expand in some areas," said Brenda Hamm, co-owner of the store.

Brenda and her husband, Rod, own the store. Brenda and Nadine Friesen are the store managers.

The bookstore has a large variety of Christian and inspirational books, music, gifts, and children's toys and books.

"We'll be able to have a children's area, have more gift items, and expand our Christian education materials," said Brenda.

Brenda is wanting to give more religious education curriculum options to the Hillsboro community.

"People can meet and look at the options of Christian education," said Brenda.

A seating area for group activities also is in the plans.

"In the past, there was a 'Girl's Night Out,'" said Brenda. "This space will allow that type of activity."

Brenda and Nadine hope to be ready to open at the new location by tomorrow.

The store hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
