Church presents Easter Passion

Hillsboro United Methodist Church will present "Scenes of the Easter Passion," from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hillsboro Memorial Park.

The drive-through event will feature eight scenes about the Easter story. They include a welcome, a street in Jerusalem, a Gentile court of the Temple, the upper room, Gethesmane, Pilot's court, Golgotha, and the empty tomb.

"This production will be better than our Christmas one," said Laney Kuhn, pastor of HUMC. "There have been 90 people involved in working hard on this presentation."

Kuhn said the production cost more than $1,000, and gave credit to all of those involved in working in whatever capacity on the presentation.

In case of rain, the presentation will be moved to the Marion County Fairgrounds 4-H building, where personal tours will be given.

Kuhn encourages the community to come out and support the event, which is free and opened to the public.

"This is something for the community to highlight the Easter story," Kuhn said.
