City, college will iron out who pays what on streets

Staff reporter

Hillsboro City Council was told of a disagreement Aug. 21, regarding the amount Tabor College owes to the city for recent sewer improvements.

Mayor Delores Dalke told the council that the college was billed for a sewer main extension and a share of engineering fees for a total of $9,535. The city received a letter from the college that stated college officials were unaware that the college was expected to pay a share of the engineering fees.

City clerk Jan Meisinger looked back at the minutes from the meeting of Oct. 3, 2006, which stated that the city had approved the request made by Tabor College with the college paying the actual expenses.

A break down of costs related to the project will be sent to the college.
