City council candidates file for office
Three candidates have filed for two positions on Hillsboro City Council.
One candidate seat each from the east ward and west ward is up for election. Those seats currently are held by Byron McCarty and Shelby Dirks, respectively.
Incumbent McCarty filed for re-election and Martin Rhodes also filed for the east ward.
Incumbent Dirks was the only candidate to file for the west ward.
The filing deadline was noon Tuesday.
The election will be held April 1.
