City council election is April 1

Hillsboro city residents will go to the polls April 1 to choose two city council members.

One candidate seat each from the first ward and second ward is up for election.

Candidates for those seats are incumbent Shelby Dirks, first ward, and incumbent Byron McCarty and Martin Rhodes, second ward.

Hillsboro City Building, 118 E. Grand, is the polling site for first ward voters and Hillsboro United Methodist Church, 905 E. D, for second ward.

The polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Advance ballots may be cast at the Marion County clerk's office at the county courthouse prior to the election.
