City fires rec director
Hillsboro Recreation Commission director Lonnie Isaac has been relieved of his position, according to City Administrator Steve Garrett.
His last day on the job was Tuesday.
Garrett declined to comment on the exact reason for Isaac's release, but he said it was for the "good of the service," meaning the good of city operations.
The decision was not connected to the executive session for personnel that the City Council held during its Tuesday night meeting, Garrett said.
Right now, the city will try to find an interim director to head up the rec program during the summer baseball season, he said. After that, the city will decide how or if it will hire another full-time director, and if so, whether or not that person will be a new city employee or promoted from within.
