Community extends condolences to Decker family

Merle Decker, 60, Hillsboro died Oct. 2, 2004, at his home.

Born April 8, 1944, in Hillsboro, he was the son of Harry and Suzie (Smith) Decker.

On Oct. 18, 1980, he married Kathy Penner Flaming in Hillsboro.

He was a farmer and rancher.

He was a member of Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Kris and Carolyn Decker of Matthews, N.C., Carey and Carol Flaming of Lakewood, Colo., and Bryce and Tammy Flaming of Benton; daughters, Susan Decker and a friend Tammy Just of Ottawa and Tammy and Tom McEvoy of Emporia; brothers, John Decker of rural Durham and Earl Decker of Newton; sisters, Jaraine Redger of rural Durham and Carolyn Duggan of Hutchinson; stepmother, Verna Decker, Sydney, Mont.; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with Rev. Laney Kuhn officiating. Burial will be at 9 a.m. at Valley View Cemetery, Roxbury.
