Jim and Mary Clemmer received word Saturday that her nephew, Bob Dailey had died. For several years Dailey has made a special visit to Tampa during the Christmas season. Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn attended a Valentine luncheon Sunday at the Christian church in Marion. A program after the meal featured the wedding gowns of women of the church modeled by some of the young women.

Lori Moldenhauer and Frank and Anna Mae Stika attended a supper and game night at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Herington. The Stikas and another couple were honored with a welcome to new members.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs enjoyed a movie and supper out in Salina Sunday in celebration of Lucille's birthday. She also received many cards and phone calls with birthday greetings from family and friends.

Tampa people attending a Valentine banquet Sunday evening at Durham Baptist Church were Kem and Autumn Chisholm, Gus and Mildred Hamm, Willis and Eleanor Herbel, Valerie Hampton, and Jane Vajnar. The fellowship hall was decorated with a Mexican theme, and the Baptist Youth Fellowship served the meal. After-dinner entertainment consisted of some pencil games and songs by Pastor Curtis and Connie Wiens.

Grant and Cole Srajer spent Monday with their great-grandmother, Tillie Hein.

Leona Kleiber spent Valentine's weekend with Dean and Becky Routh, Melody, Allison, and Danielle of Augusta. All attended the bluegrass festival in Wichita Friday afternoon and Saturday. The Routh sisters performed Saturday afternoon with their instruments, both as a group and individually, in the junior showcase.

Greg Sklenar was a weekend guest of Lois Sklenar and Valerie Hampton.

Weekend guests of Jerry and Jeanne Rziha and Julie were Cecilia Rziha, Kristi Kenney, and Kari Gienger of Hays, and Jim and Diane Herron, Andrew and Peter of Wichita. Emilio Aita of Atchison was an additional Sunday visitor.

Adeline Bernhardt spent from Friday to Monday with Carl and Kathy Hubbard and Clint of Wellington. On Friday evening the Hubbards entertained with a party for Clint's 18th birthday. Others helping him celebrate were Andrea, Sierra, and Journie King, Jeremy Miller, Seth Crisler, Dr. Joe and Linda Baker, Greg, Marsha, and Ashley Renn, Katie Leaf, Pastor Michael Wolf and Noah and Donna Hubbard of Wellington, and Dee Anna and Gabrielle Stout of Wichita. Barney and Linda Bernhardt of Wichita were later afternoon visitors. On Sunday Adeline, the Hubbards, and Andrea King attended church followed by a Valentine dinner served by the men of the church.

Julie Kerbs and Rustyn visited Reuben and Lucille Kerbs after church Sunday to wish Lucille a happy birthday.

Tom Duggan attended a Lions zone meeting Sunday afternoon in Hillsboro.

A box is available in the Tampa State Bank for donations for a drawing for a hymnbook angel and/or dinner for two at the cafe. The drawing will be held Feb. 29 at the community leap year potluck at the senior center.

The Centre High School scholars' bowl team competed Saturday at the state quiz tournament at Ransom. Team members included Rachel Davis, Amanda Kleiber, Tad Remy, Brianne Stahlecker, and Tim Baker.

Jane Vajnar attended the funeral Saturday morning of Jennifer Jantz at Roxbury. Jennifer was one of Jane's students when she taught at Roxbury 40 years ago.

Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn visited Saturday with Ryan and Claudette Spohn, Adam and Lauren at Manhattan.

Tom and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki spent Saturday in Salina and enjoyed dinner and supper out in celebration of Valentine's Day.

Kaylee Hall of Herington spent Friday and Saturday with Tom and Dee Duggan. They all went to a tea party at in Canton. Dee and Kaylee met Deb Hall in Lost Springs Saturday for supper out, and Kaylee returned home with her mother.

Helen Costello returned Friday from Mulvane where she had spent a week with Tom and Patty Ingalls and saw some of their children and grandchildren.

Anna Mae Stika and Lisa and Ronnie Hanschu were among those attending the junior high basketball tournament Saturday afternoon in White City.

Lynn and Peggy Kleiber, Andrea and Nicholas and Cole Svoboda visited Leona Kleiber Thursday evening for an early Valentine celebration.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended the funeral service Feb. 9 for his cousin, Frank McKinney at Saint Theresa's Catholic Church in Hutchinson.

Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt visited Milda Krauter Wednesday at Marion Manor in Marion.

Sunflower Senior Citizens enjoyed their monthly potluck dinner and meeting Feb. 10 at the senior center. Judy Fleming, a representative from Waddell & Reed, was a guest. She spoke to the group about the new Medicare law in regard to prescription drugs. She also held a drawing at the end of her presentation and gave certificates for one dinner and for three pieces of pie and coffee at the cafe. Adeline Bernhardt and Leona Kleiber, the hostesses, decorated with a Valentine theme. Others present were Jim and Mary Clemmer, Tom and Dee Duggan, Martha Melcher, Margaret Jirak, Magdalen Dvorak, Bonnie Crandall, Shirley Krause, Helen Costello, and Jane Vajnar.
