County students earn K-State scholarships

Twenty-one Marion County students have been awarded scholarships totaling more thans $37,000 for the 2002-03 school year at Kansas State University.

Those from Marion include Carrie Darrow, $1,500 Megan Elizabeth Taylor Memorial Scholarship in Modern Languages.

Nicholas Kraus, $1,000 Ray Davis Enrichment Fund and $900 Producers and Texas Livestock Marketing Assn. of Kansas City Student Scholarship and Enrichment Fund.

Braxton Skiles, $1,200 medallion scholarship.

Rebekah Taylor, $1,200 medallion scholarship.

Ashley DeForest, Florence, $1,250 Howard C. Eberline Memorial and $750 engineering scholarship.

Stacia Williams, Florence, $900 achievement and $550 KSU Marching Band.

Eric Carlson, Lincolnville, $4,500 Donna Kottwitz and Mark Larson Engineering.

Lucas Carlson, Lincolnville, $1,000 Frank A. Hagans Memorial and $800 Elizabeth and William Henry Hinshaw Memorial Scholarship in Agriculture.

Jenna Tajchman, Lincolnville, $900 achievement and $1,000 Jim Buchanan Scholarship.

Bradley Hajek, Lost Springs, $1,250 engineering.

Jonathan Herbel, Tampa, $1,500 W.F. and Lucille Farrell Scholarship.

Sarah E. Smith, Peabody, $2,100 memorial scholarship.

Laci Alvarez, Hillsboro, $850 ConAgra Foundation and $550 William and Mary Heaton Memorial Student Aid Fund.

Christopher Coryea, Hillsboro, $1,500 Sprint Scholarship in Management Information Systems.

Emily Diener, Hillsboro, $1,070 Robert W. Janzen Scholarship and $1,000 Tim Lim Undergraduate Scholarship in Agriculture.

Shawn Edwards, Hillsboro, $2,000 Coonrod Memorial Construction Scholarship.

Carmelita Goossen, Hillsboro, $500 Scott S. Chandler Sr. Memorial and $500 Gaylord Munson Memorial.

Chris Seibel, Hillsboro, $2,000 engineering scholarships.

Jeffrey Vogel, Hillsboro, $1,400 Ivy Fuller Olds Agronomy Scholarship.

Grant Wiens, Hillsboro, $2,000 Paul B. and Sandra M. Edgerley Business Administration Leadership Scholarship and $700 Charles F. Moggie Scholarship and KSU Alumni with Arther Anderson and Company Scholarship.

Kalena Schroeder, Goessel, $1,250 Arts and Sciences Fund for Excellence and $300 Jo Harriett Hofsess Popkins Scholarship.

More than 4,000 students at K-State were awarded scholarships which total more than $6.6 million and are made possible through donations and gifts to the KSU Foundation.
