Dayton Unruh

Dayton Unruh, 79, of Hillsboro, died Nov. 21, 2002, at Parkside Homes, Inc. in Hillsboro.

Born May 8, 1923, in McPherson County, he was the son of Joel P. and Lydia (Koehn) Unruh.

On March 21, 1948, in rural Tampa, he married Martha Dirks.

He worked at Guerdon Industries Mobile Home Manufacturing in Newton.

He was a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church.

Survivors include his wife of Lehigh; sons, Warren Unruh and wife Jane of Lehigh and Quentin Unruh and wife Diane of rural Canton; daughters, Wanda and husband Larry Koehn of rural Durham, Starla and husband Richard Harms of Montezuma, and Carol Ann Unruh of Lehigh.; sisters, Della Decker of Scott City and Florine Koehn of Aliceville, Ala.; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday at Morning Star Mennonite Church, rural Tampa, with ministers Ransom Wiebe, Merlin Wiebe, and Cyrus Wedel officiating. Burial was at Logan Cemetery in rural Tampa.

A memorial fund has been established with Morning Star Mennonite Church.
