District hires vo-ag instructor
The Hillsboro school district has hired a new vocational-agriculture teacher.
Tim Kilgore, originally of Lancaster, will be the new vo-ag teacher this fall, Superintendent Gordon Mohn said at a special school board meeting held Monday afternoon.
Kilgore attended Pleasant Ridge High School, which is in Easton, approximately 14 miles west of Leavenworth.
After graduation from KSU, Kilgore moved to Iowa to work as a hog buyer. He soon realized he wanted to go into teaching, and returned to K-State to earn a teaching degree, Mohn said.
Kilgore is in his mid-twenties, Mohn said, and is married. In addition to being the vo-ag teacher, Kilgore will also be the FFA sponsor.
Five applicants were interviewed before the decision was made to hire Kilgore, Mohn said.
