Dorothy Mae Quiring
Dorothy Mae Quiring, 79, died April 19, 2004, at Kansas Christian Home, Newton.
Born March 10, 1925, at Hillsboro, she was the daughter of Fred and Julia (Matz) Lipps.
On Oct. 8, 1945, she married Charles Lloyd Quiring. He died in 1998.
She was a homemaker and worked for F.W. Woolworth during World War II. She was a former Girl Scout leader and member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Lydia Circle.
A former resident of Marion and Hillsboro, she enjoyed cooking, helping family and friends, and volunteering at church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Harold Lipps and Gene Lipps.
Survivors include a son, Charles Quiring of Hutchinson; a daughter, Carol Lee Silverglat of McKinney, Texas; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services were held Wednesday morning at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Dean von Stroh of Zion Lutheran Church, Newton, officiating.
Memorial funds have been established with the church and with Kansas Christian Home.
