Dream on!

There are a lot of high school aged young men and women from Hillsboro and Goessel competing this weekend at state sports championships.

Congratulations!

And, good luck!

The Trojan girls' volleyball team goes to Salina on Friday hoping to bump, set, and spike their way to the Class 3A state title.

Led by seniors JuliAnne Chisholm, Tina Frick, and Jenny Whisenhunt, the volleyball team is on a roll.

Samantha Soyez, Amanda Bina, Amy Neufeld, Jenesa Klose, Bobbi Jo Carlson, Dakota Kaufman, Corissa Bartel, Jessica Klose, and Chelsea Bebermeyer round out the squad.

The Hillsboro boys' cross country team will be running at the Class 3A state championship in Wamego. Sean Leihy, Cody McMillen, Nicholas Mueller, Matthew Klenda, Nathan Vogel, Johnathan Christian, and Mrandon McMillen will wear the maroon and gold.

From Goessel, the girls' cross country team and two individual runners from the boys' team will be at Wamego to run for the glory of their school.

The Bluebird girls make their first appearance as a team at a state cross country meet. Lisa Rohner, Janessa Wedel, Sara Bowman, Lindsey Wedel, and Friederike Noltenius.

And good luck to Goessel boys Martin Koppitz and Wade Wilson, as well.

At times like these, when young men and women at their best compete against the best in an attempt to be the best, we see the best.

And we're reminded of a saying that we pass along to all of our competitors this weekend, "Happy are those who dream dreams and are willing to pay the price to make them come true."
