Durham man faces multiple charges

Joshua A. Cody, 19-year-old Durham man, was arrested Feb. 5 on the following charges: offering marijuana for sale within 1,000 feet of a school; possession of marijuana with intent to sell; possession of drug paraphernalia; three counts of battery; sexual assault; criminal threat; criminal damage to property; criminal trespass; and disorderly conduct.

The incidents took place at 109 S. Jefferson in Hillsboro. Victims were David Bostic, Lucas Lilly, Justin Hein, Rebecca Janzen, and Todd Simmons, all of Hillsboro. An un-named juvenile female was the victim of sexual assault.

Cody was at the residence with several other people when he yelled obscenities, broke the glass out of a door, sexually assaulted a female, and struck three people. He was told to leave the residence but refused. He then struck another person several times before fleeing the scene.

When Cody was apprehended, he was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Further investigation indicated that he was attempting to sell marijuana at the residence which is within 1,000 feet from a school.

The investigating officer was Daniel Kinning.
