Earl Bartel
Earl G. Bartel, 80, died Jan. 6, 2007, at Bethesda Home, Goessel.
Born Sept. 26, 1926, at Hillsboro, he was the son of Emil and Martha (Duerksen) Bartel.
He was a farmer and member of Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.
On Oct. 7, 1947, he married Elizabeth Schroeder at Inman. She died in 2002.
He also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Elaine Sue Bartel.
Survivors include three sons, Donnivon Bartel of Burrton, Glenn Bartel of Wichita, and Scott Bartel of Hillsboro; two daughters, Sharon Tomlinson of Wichita and Darlene Ediger of Hesston; sister, Frieda Wall of Hillsboro; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Burial was at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at French Creek Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. at Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Dave Plett officiating.
A memorial fund has been established with the Union Rescue Mission.
