Edna Warkentin
Edna Warkentin, 86, of McPherson died March 26, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in McPherson.
Born Nov. 16, 1915, at Inman, she was the daughter of George W. and Lena (Friesen) Toews.
She married John K. Warkentin on Nov. 5, 1939, at Inman. He died May 6, 1979.
She had lived in McPherson since 1979, moving from Lehigh. She was a homemaker and a member of Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church in Inman.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Boothe; a brother, John Toews; a sister, Martha Kroeker; three grandsons; and one great-grandson.
Survivors include daughters, Janice Winter of McPherson, Janet Hein of Hillsboro, E. Jean Hein of McPherson, and Joan Kaplin of Wichita; sister Malinda Toews of Inman; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church in Inman with Revs. Rob Morrow and Elmer Ensz officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Mennonite Brethren Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation hours will be from 3 to 8 p.m. at Stockham Family Funeral Home in McPherson. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
A memorial has been established with the church.
