Edwin Funk

Edwin R. Funk, 90, of Hillsboro, died March 13, 2005.

The son of Gerhard and Elizabeth (Rempel) Funk, he was born April 12, 1914, in Marion County.

On Aug. 4, 1935, he married Elma Jantz near Durham.

He was a farmer and member of Trinity Mennonite Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elma of Hillsboro; three sons and daughters-in-law, Virgil and Joyce Funk of Topeka, Loren and Heleen Funk of Hillsboro, and Gordon and Delores Funk of Wichita; a daughter and son-in-law, Violet and Jerry Dalke of Hillsboro; sister, Elizabeth Schmidt of Newton; sister-in-law, Gladys Jantz of Hillsboro; nine grandchildren, Steve, Wendell, Russel, and Jonathan Funk, June Rempel, Anita Unruh, Amy Ratzlaff, Jenel Edwards, and Melisa Cooper; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Tim Kliewer officiating.

Burial will be in Haven of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.

A memorial fund has been established with the church.
