Eldon W. Knak

Eldon W. Knak, 83, Hillsboro, died March 26, 2005, at Hillsboro.

Born March 13, 1922, in Hillsboro, he was the son of William and Louise (Penner) Knak. On March 12, 1946, he married Hilda Funk in Goessel.

He was a farmer and machinist and a member of First Mennonite Church. He served during World War II as a medical technician.

He was a charter member of Hillsboro American Legion Post 366 where he served as chaplain and a Mason serving as Past Master of Centre Lodge 147 AFAM.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven R. Knak.

Survivors include his wife of Hillsboro; sons, Michael D. of Hillsboro, Ronny L. of Wichita, Don E. of Florence, Glenn D. of Salina, Larry A. of Thomason Town, Pa., and Roger D. of Russell; daughter, Clarice A. Warkentin of Hillsboro; sister, Lois Koehn Wells of California; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held March 30 at First Mennonite Church of Hillsboro with Pastor Stanley Bohn officiating. Burial at Haven of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro, preceded the ceremony.

Musicians were Shirley Flaming, organist, and Dave Clark, soloist. Casket bearers were Michael D. Knak, Ronny L. Knak, Don E. Knak, Glenn D. Knak, Larry A. Knak, and Roger D. Knak.

Memorials have been established with First Mennonite Church or the American Heart Association.
