Ellis Jack Freeborn
Ellis W. "Jack" Freeborn, 95, of Florence, died Sept. 25, 2005, at St. Luke Hospital, Marion.
Born Aug. 29, 1910, at Marion, he was the son of William and Nellie (LeDuc) Freeborn.
He was a lifelong resident of the Florence community. Jack was a farmer. He also worked in the oilfields and on the roads using a team of horses for heavy work to supplement the farm income.
On June 21, 1935, he married Fronie Scobee. She died in 2001.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Myrtle Ice and Mazie McKnight; and a son-in-law, Earl Wineinger.
Survivors include a son, Jackie Dean Freeborn of Florence; two daughters, Ruth Ellen Hodges of Ponca City, Okla., and Mary Lee Wineinger of Windsor, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Florence Christian Church with Pastor Larry Timm officiating.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.
A memorial fund has been established with St. Luke Living Center, Marion.
